Single parents better off on benefits
SINGLE parents can make up to £26,000 per year on benefits the equivalent of a £37,500 salary after tax, social security and child care.
Senator Ben Shenton has revealed the figures in the report accompanying an amendment to make permanent the expansion of winter fuel payment to over-65s who are not on Income Support, but who get the GST bonus.
He says that the figures based on a single parent with
